Jimmy Thommes (Co-Founder of Bit Capital Group)
Jimmy Thommes is co-founder and COO of Bitcap.co. They are a mid-sized GPU-based mining/hosting firm in Washington State, US with hundreds of workers currently under management mining various Blockchain. (Shameless plug: they currently have a few spots remaining to host if you currently have hardware looking for a home.) He has been in the space as a hobbyist since late 2014, and professionally since early 2016. Over the last 5 years, he had the privilege of mining Ethereum and Zcash’s Genesis block, but also witnessed firsthand the Mt. Gox and the DAO trainwrecks. Given the highs and lows, he thinks 2019 will be a huge year for GPU miners, and ProgPoW has the potential to play a large role. It is a demand for technology, competitors, or time that has made experts raising the question of why Ethereum should adopt porgPoW as early as possible?
